North Aisle (1) window of St Peter's Church, Hersham, Surrey, attributed to Clayton & Bell. 1887 (see Eberhard). This was one of the church's original windows, along with the firm's east and west windows, so it is rather unlikely that it would have been the work of any other firm, even apart from its stylistic similarities. It is a vivid depiction of the episode in which Jesus raises Lazarus from his tomb, with the text underneath the climactic part reading, "He cried with a loud voice Lazarus come forth" (John 11, 43). In the right foreground, an angel is helping to support the bemused and shrouded Lazarus, who has been dead for four days. An onlooker in the background is equally amazed.
