Sir Richard Owen by Sir Thomas Brock, K.C.B., R.A. 1847-1922. 1896. Bronze. Natural History Museum, London These photographs show Brock's statue of Owen in 2001, when stood at the top of the first landing of the museums grand staircase, a position now fittingly occupied by Boehm's marble sculpture of Darwin. Robert Freidus's photographs taken a decade later show the Owen in a new location. [Click on these images for larger pictures.]
