Punch 27 (1854): 210
"The Autocrat's Song" is the type of comic opera patter song that Gilbert and Sullivan later made famous. Here, the Punch satirist imagines Nicholas I singing about his futile attempts to conquer the Ottoman Empire and secure control of the eastern Mediterranean through the Dardanelles.
