An illustration showing the scene where Mr Cheeacre proposes to Arabella, with Capt. Bellfield about to enter the room. Though based on Millais’s realistic style, Taylor’s drawing is inconsistent, and the image typifies her gauche style. Known only as ‘Miss Taylor’, this amateur artist produced no other work, and her first name, like her art, is a blank.
